There is something that Rosario de la Encarnación has in common with Picasso: Inspiration arrives while she is working. She can start with an idea and finish doing precisely the opposite one. Her hands and her mind are the ones which decide in the process of creating the designs for her brand Babiné (www.babinebebe.es). From her village, Lentejuela (Seville), she marks children’s fashion, which is, in this new season, full of window squares, dresses with serigraphies and embroideries, shades of camel and light grey, sprinkled with pink and beige. Everything with the usual quality of the brand.
She started in the fashion business several years ago with her brand for pregnant women Roinsal, with which she really broke the mould. She did not want any whiny designs full of bows at all. Her purpose was clear: Is the fact of being expecting a baby a reason why a woman sholud change her style? So she started to design clothes in order to go to work, to dinner or to attend to a ceremony. Afterwards, as time went by, she used her experience in the children’s fashion brand Babiné, which is being well known in Spain and in other attractive countries.
“In the United Kingdom we have had a great success. It is said that the reason is the similarity between my style and theirs but I think that the finish, the handcrafted items and the good making are the most valued elements. Nowadays the quality is the factor that opens the doors of the international market, which is very demanding and it also has very strict tests. The fact of passing those tests means that the bet for making clothes in your country and the monitoring of the evolution of every item were not mistakes.”
Rosario de la Encarnación has her workshops distributed around Andalusia because of the trust and the comfort: “There are a lot of professional people and it also gives me the opportunity of controlling the whole process. People who decide to make the clothes in other countries do not know how the clothes will arrive. We are very careful with the details, including the materials, which are always anti allergic for the babies. The customers have more information every day and they have the right to demand for the best and all the guarantees.
Apart from the United Kingdom, Babiné can be found in Venezuela, Russia or Poland, where it went with a legation organized by Extenda, the Andalusian Agency for the external promotion, the same one with which Babiné will go to Mexico very soon. Previously, Babiné had visited Bubble London, which will be visited very often because of the quantity of contacts and clients that are met in every edition. That fact also happened at the Feria Internacional de Moda Infantil y Juvenil de Valencia (FIMI), where she paraded with Roinsal and Babiné.
Rosario de la Encarnación, who thinks that you get what you pay for and that the fact of buying a use and throw article of clothing is a mistake, will open her online shop in September. People will be able to buy the clothes of Babiné and the stock of clothes and underwear for pregnant women of Roinsal. Present at the social networks, she acknwoledges the role of the new technonologies in the spreading of her brand. They made her work well known without going out of the village she is very proud of.
