Babiné (http://www.babinebebe.es) has become a classic, not only in this blog, but in the children’s fashion industry in Spain and with an important international repercussion. Babiné born of the powerful imagination and the perseverance of a woman, Rosario de la Encarnación. That kind of woman that slowly hatch her company, without making a lot of noise, who really make the road by walking. In her village, Lantejuela, an especially rural village of the geography of Seville, some people is still surprised when they see her moving with skill at the children’s fashion exhibition of Moscú, where last January walk the catwalk in the CPM; Mexico or London.
She began making maternity clothes with her firm Roinsal, twenty five useful years ago. She walked the catwalk at the International Exhibition of Childish Fashion of Valencia (FIMI), when it was a coveted and desirable fair for the firms. And now, after studying the international market, she will return to her tracks. The demand has been more important than her reticence to return to a sector in which she pulled over seeing the proliferation of loose clothes in most collection of the designers and big distribution firms.
“Roinsal was a firm with different lines, sport, party, to go to work. Being pregnant is not synonymous of let oneself go, to wear anything to get by. A woman has to continue with her life, with her daily activities. Maternity clothes have to fit the body and, therefore, have the right structure. With the arrival of wide clothes, all the firms that are dedicated to this specialty were disappearing. Currently, and being focused on internationalization, the demand of maternity clothes, for example in Mexico, emerging country in fashion, is so high that we have decided to relaunch Roinsal”.
To relaunch Roinsal without losing sight of Babiné, the kidswear firm that Rosario de la Encarnación created some years ago and that has been fixed inside and outside of our borders. The secret of success might be in that clothes fit both interests of children and of their parents. They are very childish collections in a time when most firms opt to dress children like adults; in the image and similarity of their elders, with a big loss of spontaneity and naturalness in the pieces.
The collection for this autumn-winter 2013-2014, for the back to school, is very wide, like always, but what stands out is the colour. Greens mix with embroidery in dark orange tones and bright oranges with brown chocolates. The burgundy makes a perfect couple with earthy colours, which are showing off in jackets with sheepskin overlay, especially for those girls who want to imitate their elders because they are on the border with adolescence age. The red also has a place of honor in dresses, coats and cardigans for children.
Before children’s wear firms homelands realize that a good solution to the crisis was the internationalization, Babiné has already done its homework and hurried up to get into the starting position. Result fo her vision of the future is the long list of countries where she is, besides all Spain: Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Venezuela, France, Holland, Belgium, Mexico and United Kingdom. In these two countries, the sales have increased and there are several projects underway. Babiné grows and now in its path will be accompanied by Roinsal.
