They are a mother and a daughter: Inés Tejada, from El Puerto de Santa María (Andalusia), and Inés de Tovar from Venezuela. Now they have created a perfect tandem. They combine the mother’s experience, graduated in Arts and Fashion and such an expert making tailor-made suits, wedding, party or cocktail dresses for fourteen years and the youth and passion from the daughter, graduated in Administration of Business and Design in Sevilla de Moda. She also has studied a Master in Ceade. Both are Inés Inés (www.inesines.es), they have settled down in Seville and have the headquarters in San Esteban Street, number 17.
They have just arrived from Venezuela and they are having luck from the very beginning. They have a faithful clientele maybe because there’s a fresh variety where they can choose, since tailor-made clothes to prêt-à-porter and avant-garde pieces surprising for their originality. Moreover, tomorrow they have and appointment in The Novice Designers Catwalk of Simof (International Gallery of Flamenco Fashion). It is going to be celebrated in Fibes, and they are presenting a collection inspired on Belle Époque posters.
Its name is “Lace” because this fabric is going to be one of the protagonist along with silk, chiffon, mikado, crepe and satin. “Most of them are gala night dresses, but we are also presenting two morning Fair designs”. Anyway, Inés Inés it is characterized by the way they work with tissues: they tear them, they dye them, and they fill them with hand-made embroidery and precious stones. This way, their designs are different from the rest, like the pieces that model Ana Vega is showing in this article.
That is the way they work with their wedding dresses, for which they need to work three months in advance (the early they start, the best) and three fittings. “We design and shape them in bride’s body and we never repeat the structure. As a memory we give them a picture of the model that they have chosen and a photo of the last dress fitting, the most special moment because is when they look like a real bride. We use any kind of tissue, even lycra for girls who want to marry on the beach”.
They are still working with their clientele in Panama, Venezuela, Miami and Colombia, but they guarantee that fashion is much more colorful along South America. “It is summer fashion and people go to parties with label dresses, more elaborated and glamorous. In Spain everything is different, people is more conservative, women only dare to wear headdress such as Ana de los Jardines, which I have in my shop. Here people dress better during the day because it is more risky, and there at night on the contrary”.
However, they guarantee that many original women go to their atelier. “They are women who let us advise them when the time comes to choose their godmother dress”. As good Venezuelan do, they admire Carolina Herrera, “the personification of elegance”. “Maybe you won’t be the most admired of the red carpet, but the faultless”. From the Spanish designers they prefer Josep Font to Del Pozo and Victorio & Luccino “because they are true to their style”.
