Goethe said that enthusiasm is the only state of mind able to generate action. Ask Macu Ramos, a Sevillian woman established in Fregenal de la Sierra, who is following to the letter the thoughts of the German writer. She is the creator of the children’s clothing brand «Muacks», she has just launched her first collection and the one for the next autumn-winter will be presented in FIMI (Spanish acronym for International Children Clothing Fair) which will be celebrated in Ifema, Madrid, from 1 to 3 of February.

To her credit, she has a Marketing Degree, a post of Director in a company of her field, one year in Cambridge studying English and the PIDE (Spanish acronym for Intensive Program of Business Management) in San Telmo Institute. All this professional background is enhanced with her power and ability to meet any challenge, and here we have Macu Ramos. Her aim with «Muacks» is that kids wear kids clothes, comfortable and happy.

“The idea of bulding a fashion brand started to walk through my mind two years ago and then I went to the Momad, the International Fashion Fair in Madrid. I saw some sweatshirts that matched the age of my children and, coming back in the train, everything emerged. I found myself in Portugal, where the best organic cotton is sold, and I baptized my brand as «Muacks«, the word I use to say goodbye; the “M” from Macu, a short name and that can be pronounced in many languages.

Macu Ramos claims that villages are the best places to work in her area. “You can move the world from any place. In Fregenal de la Sierra, Badajoz, I have quality of life, the calm I need to create and the nature that inspires me, like the green of the grass from the Extremadura meadows and the mustard from the mimosas. I design in Fregenal and produce in Portugal, but I fully monitor the collections.

“My children try the prototypes. I like everything fitted and in this collection we have today in telademoda.com the sizing goes from 3 to 12 years, but in the one that I will be presenting in FIMI, due to the big claim, we will rise size 14 and there will be S and M. Apart from the coverall sweatshirts and hoodies, we will have t-shirts, jogging pants with colourful stripes to make the contrast, grey tones, blue, mustard…”

To Macu Ramos new technologies open the mind. She sells, of course, online from her website (www.muacks.es), but she doesn’t rule out doing it in physical stores. Madrid is one of her strong points and she has more claims each time from the capital of Spain. However, if you ask her for her favourite children clothing brands, she doesn’t doubt and points two Andalusians: «By Niné», from San Fernando and «Lasuanzes«, from Cadiz.
