Nuria Cobo is not just the shoemaker from Seville or her shop in the Street Méndez Núñez a permanent flow of clients asking for a piece of advice knowing that they are going to get the best one. Nuria Cobo not just sells shoes online over the world from her web: www.nuriacobo.com/fiesta. Nuria Cobo is a personality, an “influencer” as it is known today, included in the rate of resemblances of the book “La sastrería” from the journalist Carlos Navarro Antolín.

With Nuria Cobo, an impressive lady in every meaning of the word, you can talk about everything. She is a practicing Sevillian to the core and she’s not embarrased when she have to recognize it, even when she assures, firmly, that when people says that wearing new shoes in Easter Sunday is a provincian thing, they are being snobs. “It’s a way to honour your city, your religión. East is a catwalk, a Seville’s portrait”.

Then she takes advantage to say that in her shop they have shoes for these days, even black “stilettos” for who want to dress with a “mantilla”. But there is more, of course, those which are in trend this season. “Colour, a lot of colour, among them bougainvillea, one colour that characterizes Nuria Cobo. Green and a lot of nude, wich is what beige has turn into. Metalized gold and silver and the purple as the powerful colour of the season”.

“There are two different trends, the “stilettos” or smart shoes with a fine tip, wich stylize the leg, with different mesures from 4’5 to 10 centimetres tall, and the platform shoe: the peed toe and the sandals. Yes, I know that some traditional shoemakers hate platforms, but I fiercely defend them, because a platform is very comfortable and have made that many women can wear heals for hours”.

For Nuria Cobo a shoe tells much about the care that people put in their world. “Taking care of the details is going beyond, taking care of the details means that the main thing is more than cared”. But she is concerned that we don’t style for our workaday, wich, as Valentino says, the people nowadays, almost in Europe, just manage to attend to a wedding. “The consequence of this carelesness – says – is that streets get uglier”.

Oscar de la Renta and Jackie Kennedy are her smart fetiches, although for her the elegance is an emblem. “Smart people know that, they show it but never boast, because elegante is discretion. You don’t have to make noise to show what stands out”. She is who is going to make noise when she realizes wich people would be unfaithful to her with some designs of Sergio Rossi, Renè Caovilla y Converse. Ah, she has thought it a lot!
